Doris Day (DECEASED)
Doris Day was an actress, singer, animal welfare activist, and a big-time film star in the ’60s. Her career started when she became the singer for the big band, Les Brown & His Band of Renown. In 1945, she performed the recordings Sentimental Journey and My Dreams are Getting Better All the Time, which became hit songs of the decade. Eventually, she left the band to begin her solo career and released 650 more pieces until the late ’60s.
By the time, she has already earned several credit roles and has starred in different genres such as comedies, musicals, dramas, and thrillers. However, even with a successful career in Hollywood, Day decided to give it up for a different life. She started a business and established a hotel in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. We can think of many reasons why she chose to leave her career in the industry, but one thing is for sure, she did it for her future. Fans will always support her anyway.
