Stephen Sondheim

Stephen Sondheim is one of the most influential composers and lyricists in the 20th century. The musician is known for reinventing the American musical with shows that confront surprising themes that go beyond the genre’s usual narratives. His music has been noted for its complexity, sophistication and has gotten praised for its dark and somber style, which purportedly shows the darker side of human emotions.
