Nichelle Nichols
Nichelle Nichols might be 88 years old, but there’s nothing that can stop her from performing. The entertainment scene has been her home, and acting is her passion. Fans will best remember the American star as Nyota Uhura in Star Trek: The Original Series and its film sequels. The very time she did it, it was an instant groundbreaking moment for African-American female celebrities in Hollywood.
After which, Nichols wrote her own autobiography, titled Beyond Uhura: Star Trek and Other Memories. She then went on to do other TV and movie projects, like Mannix, Doctor, You’ve Got to be Kidding, Truck Turner, and more. She also ventured into the music scene, releasing two albums, Down to Earth and Out of This World. She is also credited for promoting NASA’s programs. Today, Nichols continuously graces the small and big screens, with four new productions coming her fans’ way.
