Gena Rowlands
Gena Rowlands may have been at least six years retired from the industry, but she has definitely made her mark four times as an Emmy Awardee and twice on the Golden Globe’s stage. In her six-decade-long career in entertainment, she is most noted for her credit role performances in Another Woman and The Notebook. Her collaborative work with her husband, actor-director John Cassavetes, also contributed to her recognition as a unique screen actress.
Together, they made ten films, including A Woman Under the Influence and Gloria, where she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress in both movies. In her memorable role as Allie in the 2004 romantic drama The Notebook, the actress gained a whole new generation of fans. Thanks to her son, Nick Cassavetes, whose excellent movie direction led the entire production to scoop up Teen Choice Awards in 2005.
