Claire Bloom
The actress Claire Bloom started her acting career on stage after she has studied drama as a young girl. At 16 years old, she debuted on the London stage and landed on various Shakespeare plays. In fact, the critic Kenneth Tynan once commented that she was the best Juliet he had ever seen when Bloom played the part in Romeo and Juliet. Though she debuted her film acting in 1948, The Blind Goddess, it was however in her 1952 role in the drama film Limelight that the celebrity rose to international prominence.
With her career going right on track, she also benefitted from acting alongside several big-time actors such as Paul Newman, Cliff Robertson, Richard Burton, and the likes. Last 2019 she was credited as Aunt Mary in the mini-series Sumer of Rockets. As of late, her fans can look forward to seeing her in Sophie’s War, which is currently in pre-production.
