Dan Rather

Dan Rather was a former national evening news anchor and considered a staple on American television. Every night on CBS Evening News from 1981 to 2005, he has drawn to himself a massive following and fandom. Like most celebrities, however, Dan too had a start, but one that is unlike the others. He kicked off his career when he saved thousands by highlighting and mapping Hurricane Carla as a weather reporter.

His reporting led and initiated the big and small successful evacuation of 350,000 people endangered. The journalist was such an influential anchor in the CBS Evening News that when he left in the program in 2006, it lagged behind ABC World News Tonight and NBC Nightly News. On January 21, 2018, he announced the launching of his 30-minute newscast The News with Dan Rather, which airs every Monday at 5:30 pm Eastern Time.
