Barbara Barrie

Barbara Barrie once dominated the movie and theatre worlds. As a film, stage, and TV actress, the now-89-year-old star received her first breakthrough in the 1964 movie One Potato, Two Potato. Her role as Julie earned her the Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival back then, followed by an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in 1979 and an Emmy Award nomination in 1981 when she did the Breaking Away movie and TV series.

The actress also conquered the small screens, to some degree, from 1975 to 1978 when she played the role of a wife of a captain in the hit sitcom Barney Miller. For her extensive works in the theatre, Barrie received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for doing the 1971 Company by Stephen Sondheim. Today, she may be almost 90 years old, but Barrie is yet to take her hat off. In fact, she still took part in a new project of the drama genre, The Magnificent Meyerson.
